Grapes: Sangiovese grosso 100%

 

Production area: Municipality of Montalcino, hill zone with altitude between 300 and 500 m. on sea level.

 

Type of soil: mainly galestro (marl)

Vineyard cultivation and average production per hectar: double or simple rammed string according to the intensity of logs, from 3000 to 5000 logs per hectar with average return from 20 to 40 q/ha of grapes

 

Production technique: hand collection of grapes at the end of September/beginning of October; green vintage in July with cut of the biggest grapes. Winemaking with peels with native yeats for about 20/30 days, natural malolactic fermentation, put in 20 hl oak barrels at the end of fermentation processes.

 

Organolectic description: ruby red with cherry and red berry scents, persistent fruity taste in bocca with soft tannine, balanced with wood.
