IGT Tuscany Red Wine

 

This is the historic wine of the Estate and the most representative one as well. First produced in 1985 it has always interpreted, and minerality, the territory which gave birth to it. Blend of Sangiovese with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon it has become a reference point wine for its zone of origin.

 

Blend:

Sangiovese 70%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%

 

Vineyard location:

Pisan Hills – 200 m a.s.l. – Tuscany – Italy

 

Pruning:

spur – cordon and guyot

 

Density per acre:

1800 and 2600 vines

 

Grape harvest:

by hand and pressed by foot

 

Fermentation:

with indigenous yeasts

 

Maceration:

from 10 days up to 20 days depending either on the variety and vintage

 

Ageing:

16 months either in French oak barriques (of 2nd, 3rd and 4th passage) and 500 lt barrels, and 8 months in bottle before selling

 

Acidity:

5.6 g/lt (average)
