SAN GERMANO 2006
Vin Santo del Chianti D.O.C.
Named after the Patron Saint of the village of Ghizzano our “ San Germano” is made from Colombano, Malvasia Bianca and Trebbiano grapes Harvested in late September and then hung up on stainless steel wires in order that they dry and lose a part of their liquid content. After approximately four months we choose the best grapes and we press them. We transfer the wine into 30 gallon oak barrels caratelli without filling them completely because the juice should ferment slowly during three years.
It is an excellent accompaniment to dry pastry and medium seasoned cheeses.
Trebbiano 80%, Colombana 15%, Malvasia Bianca 5%
Pisan Hills – 200 m. a.s.l. – Tuscany – Italy
Density per acre:
With natural yeasts and in caratello barrels
Reminiscent of wild flowers, an intense and celestial fragrance
